Carbon Offsetting Projects

As a result, the projects we have selected focus on forest protection, enhancing biodiversity and empowering local communities. In the recent year, we also added renewable energy projects.

While emission reduction in our operations and value chain remain the priority, we implemented an additional short-term solution for those emissions we cannot yet avoid: compensation. For that reason, Bonnier Books are investing in nature-based compensation projects (focusing forest conservation and afforestation) and renewable energy projects (building alternative and renewable energy infrastructures). All projects are audited and certified under Verra (Verified Carbon Standard).

Our climate partner, South Pole, maps all our projects against the Global Goals. Many of the projects are firmly rooted in the local community, and the project owners have a close dialogue with the local population.
